According to the press release on Spoiler TV, Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) is being watched carefully, as the murder investigation of Detective Sheldon Jin (Archie Kao), who was found dead, begins. However, this doesn’t mean that everything stops for the investigation, and life does go on for the members of the Intelligence Unit.

The team takes on a routine undercover job, which involves Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) being in an armored car, while his boss, Hank Voight, tails him. However, the undercover job turns out not to be as routine as they thought it would be when a another car crashes into Voight’s car.
Meanwhile, Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) meets her new partner, as her old partner, Officer Kevin Atwater (Laroyce Hawkins) is now working on the Intelligence Unit. Her new partner, Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty), doesn’t make a good impression on her at first, but she later on learns more about him, and she realizes that he is more than what he seems to be.

Meanwhile, Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) visits her mother Bunny (Markie Post).

With regards to some questions regarding relationships within the Intelligence Unit, many fans and viewers are speculating whether it will ever be possible for Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) to ever get together as a couple. In response to this, executive producer Matt Olmstead recently told TV Line that Voight (Jason Beghe) made it clear that he doesn’t approve of relationships, especially within the unit. This was the reason why they did not pursue the relationship. As the two know that if they want to do good within Intelligence, then there is no chance that a relationship between the two of them would happen.
