Chicago PD” Season 2 Episode 22 “Push the Pain Away” aired last Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. In this episode, the Intelligence Unit raced against time to figure out what several skilled men who assassinated four men in an athletic club wanted. Meanwhile, Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush), who was having a hard time coping with the death of Nadia DeCotis (Stella Maeve), began to spiral down. Read on to learn more about this episode.

Detective Erin Lindsay woke up to find herself in her mother’s, Bunnie (Markie Post), place as she had drank a little bit too much. Her mother then comforted over Nadia DeCotis’ death. She refused to listen and decided to head to work as she was already late.

Meanwhile, Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) went on her first assignment within the Intelligence Unit as they were called to an athletic club where shots had been fired. After entering the building, they managed to arrest one of the perpetrators, but the three others got away.

Kim, Lindsay, Detective Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas) and Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) took down witness statements. Meanwhile, officers Adam Ruzek (John Patrick Fluegler) and Craig “Mouse” Gurwitch (Caleb Hunt) looked through the security footage. They discovered that the four men were precise and had military training. They then discovered that four senior partners for a particular law firm had been killed. After running the suspect in custody, they discovered that he was being suspected for killing Richard Davis, an engineer at the Lancaster Chemical Plant two days ago. Lindsay and Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) then discovered that the senior partners worked for a law firm that represented Lancaster Chemical Plant. It is the company that had just paid Davis two million dollars to keep his mouth shut about something. They then learned that the CEO of the company, Don Hastings (Ryan Kitley), was currently in the city for a big business meeting.

Afterwards, Sergeant Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) tried to get Lindsay to go home and rest.  She was still beating herself up with regards to Nadia’s death, but she refused to listen.

Meanwhile, Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), who was currently on patrol with Officer Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty) due to the Internal Affairs investigation into him, went after the sanitation truck that the suspects had hijacked, which they rammed into a shop in a building.

Voight was then called to the operations van. Detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) and the SWAT team leader was. He then discovered from the suspects that they had twelve hostages with them and that they demanded them to give them a bus, $500,000 cash and a safe route out. He was given thirty minutes to give them what they wanted.

Meanwhile, Lindsay tried to get Hastings to tell them what this was all about, but he refused to tell them anything.

Voight then decided to go in unarmed. He told Jay to cover him up on the roof. Voight then tried to talk the man in charge, Owen Kozelek (Marc Menchaca), down after Lindsay discovered that they were going after Hastings and everyone involved with Lancaster Chemicals. His eight-year-old daughter had died as a result of their town’s water getting poisoned by Lancaster Chemicals.

Jay then took him out as soon as he had a clear shot. He discovered that they were only two inside instead of three, which they made them believe.

Back at the squad room, they realized that the third shooter was Nick Sutter (Taylor John Smith), who was a nephew of Owen’s, and who had posed as a witness earlier. Alvin then learned from Evan Kozelek that Nick had been helping them gather enough evidence to make sure that Hastings paid for the death of eight-year-old Ellie Kozelek.

The entire unit then headed over to the hotel where Hastings’ meeting was taking place. There, in a utility hallway, Nick pointed a gun to Lindsay’s head. She tried to talk him down, then encouraged him to shoot her while she began to become a little bit more emotional. However, as he couldn’t do it, he lowered the gun, which Lindsay took, before running out of the hotel.

Later that night, Kim revealed to Adam that she never wanted to go back to patrol. Lindsay hooked up with a childhood friend, Landon Vannick (Robert Belushi), who also took drugs.
