Things will be getting more challenging for the good officers and detectives of “Chicago PD’s” Intelligence Unit when it returns the small screen this fall, on Sept. 30, 2015, when it premieres. The spin-off of “Chicago Fire,” which will premiere on October 15, 2015, promises the return of someone whom most thought was done with the unit, more challenges, and a visitor from Sergeant Hank Voight’s (Jason Beghe) very colorful past. WARNING: This article contains spoilers on the upcoming third season of NBC’s “Chicago PD.” Read on to learn more about what demons Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) will be facing, and to learn what will happen to Sophia Bush’s Detective Erin Lindsay.
When viewers and fans of the “Chicago Fire” spin-off show, “Chicago PD,” Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) decided to quit the force after succumbing to the bottle in order to cope with the death of her protégé, Nadia Decotis (Stella Maeve). She had been killed by serial killer and rapist Greg Yates (Robert Dallas), who is currently incarcerated for his crimes. It was thanks to the Intelligence Unit, and the detectives of Manhattan’s Special Victims Unit, who hail from the show “Law & Order: SVU.”
However, not everything was doom and gloom. Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) got engaged to each other.
In the upcoming season, according to TV Guide’s Fall Preview, Lindsay will be back after the Unit calls her to help them out after one of them is kidnapped.
Sergeant Hank Voight’s (Jason Beghe) past, according to Entertainment Weekly, will be brought into the limelight again after a criminal he put away is released due to a technical error in Voight’s report years ago. It happened while he had been busy with saving Lindsay from her mother, Bunny (Markie Post), who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will be around for the third season.
This will force Voight to reflect on how he was before. It will show how intertwined Lindsay’s past and present is with Voight.
The Hollywood Reporter also announced that Clancy Brown, who is best known for portrayed the role of General Eiling on “The Flash”, will be portraying a character named Eddie Little. He is a prisoner whom Voight had met when he served time, and whom he still uses for inside information.
