Chloe Grace Moretz Plays Lesbian Role in The Miseducation of Cameron Post

Chloe Grace Moretz joins American Honey’s Sasha Lane in the movie adaptation of Emily Danforth’s popular novel The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Find out more about this project!

Moretz will play the main character Cameron, a girl adopted by her traditional aunt during the 1990s after both of her parents died in a tragic vehicular accident, according to Entertainment Weekly. Eventually, people discriminate Cameron because they consider her a lesbian. Then, they forced her to undergo therapy. In the end, things take a turn for the better when Cameron meets Lane during therapy sessions.

Moretz previously admitted that she dropped several projects in the first part of 2016. She wanted to have better roles where she could “reassess” and “find” herself. She just filmed the suspense flick November Criminal and the dramatic, psychological Brain on Fire. She also joined Suspiria remake’s cast.

The blonde beauty started her acting career at such a young age. She is first known for her role in the sleeper hit 500 Days of Summer. She played the sassy, wise younger sister of Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Meanwhile, Moretz’s co-star Lane had her first acting role in American Honey. Critics praised her for her portrayal of a poor magazine peddler. She shared her excitement for the unknown future of her career. The actress described it as “scary” but “beautiful.”

Desiree Akhavan serves as the director of The Miseducation of Cameron Post. She is also the filmmaker behind Appropriate Behavior and even managed to take part in the fourth season of Girls. Other minds behind the movie are Ashley Connor from Thou Wast Mild and Lovely for the cinematography and Cecilia Frugiuele for the screenplay. Production companies for the film are Beachside Films and Parkville Pictures.

The movie also stars Short Term 12’s John Gallagher Jr., The Revenant’s Forrest Goodluck, A Quiet Passion’s Jennifer Ehle, Billy Brannigan, Melanie Ehrlich and Quinn Shephard.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post sets its release in 2017.
