Karen Solomon, the author of “Can It, Bottle It, Smoke It” teaches us how to bake cakes in a jar. In this video, she tells us that canning jars are built to stand a tremendous amount of heat and so it can be used to boil for canning gems and pickles and also to bake. She uses it mostly uses it to bake simple and adorable cakes. Now she teaches us how we can bake these cakes. First, we need to take two and half cups of fresh seasonal fruits and place them into four half canning jars. Then on a small bowl, we take half a cup of flour, half a cup of sugar and half a teaspoon of salt and whisk it together with the folk.
Take this mixture and pour in on the top of the fruits. Finally, top it with some butter and place the four jars on a square baking dish. Inside the baking dish, put some dried beans to avoid the jars from sliding around. Bake it in a microwave oven for one hour at 350-degree temperature.
After an hour, take it out and let it cool. You can put some cream on top and cover it. If you want, you can have them as it is or put them in the refrigerator for almost a week for a better taste. Then after a week, you can take the cake out and relish it. They make a great gift too!
