Chris Pratt fresh from the success of his recently released Dinosaur flick “Jurassic World” has definitely transformed himself. The once TV actor with a lot of body mass turned Hollywood hunks today has a career to kill for. With at least two major franchise in his hands, the actor should only see himself going towards the top.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “Jurassic World” made $208.8 million at the domestic US box office breaking records and elevating the actor’s status to a sure shot hit maker. He’s expected to return in the sequel as well. Let’s look at some of the actor’s recent movies to trace the journey to his current status, shall we? Starting with last year’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” that was the actor’s first mainstream hit, saw him completely transform himself into an inter galactic thief turned superhero. The movie that cast him alongside Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana already has a sequel that is currently being scripted by director James Gunn and hints at a bigger role for the actor within the Marvel cinematic universe. It would be amazing to see the Guardians come to Earth to help the Avengers take down the mighty Thanos who has been having a lot of cameos.
“Lego Movie” saw him play the adorable, funny yet brave Emmet, a simpleton lego figure who’s mistaken to be an extraordinary being and is asked to help heroes like Batman and a bunch of warriors to take down an evil enemy. His comic timing in the movie and goofiness was probably appreciated the most. It is also being reported that the actor is going to be a part of the sci-fi feature “Passengers” opposite Jennifer Lawrence and has reportedly scored big with a fat paycheck along with his co-star for the movie. The actor will also be moving to the western genre as he is slated to appear in “The Magnificent Seven” remake alongside Denzel Washington to be directed by Antoine Fuqua.
If speculations are true then being considered as one of the top contenders to play Indiana Jones, the actor could not ask for anything more.
