Christopher Lee, the legendary and aristocratic actor who portrayed famous villainous roles from Dracula to James Bond enemy Scaramanga has died at the age of 93. The mystical British actor who brought horror and gravity to the villainous role is probably the only actor of his age to have breathed life in so many roles.
There are numerous credits and honours in the name of celebrated actor. He probably belongs to the list of one of the few actors to have worked with such versatility in over 250 movies. According to The Guardian, Christopher Lee’s wife, former Danish model and painter Gitte Kroencke, informed the media a day later to be able to release the news to the family members first. Lee died at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on 7 June 2015 at 8:30 am after being admitted for respiratory problems and heart failure shortly after celebrating his 93rd birthday in hospital.

Lee is veritably the only actor from the cast of “Lords of the Rings” to have met J.R.R. Tolkien. His most famous portrayal will always be the renowned deathly depiction of vampire Count Dracula in the sequence of “Hammer Horror” films. Christopher Lee’s other famous representation in movies are that of Francisco Scaramanga in the James Bond film, “The Man with the Golden Gun,” Saruman in “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy, “The Hobbit” film trilogy, and Count Dooku in the final two films of the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy.
Christopher Lee’s towering height and slender frame had won him many well-known characters who will be remembered from time and again. He is considered the most prolific actor in history with more than 275 credits on IMDb under his name.
Apart from his terrific acting abilities, Lee is known for his singing ability, recording various opera and musical pieces. He was honoured with the “Spirit of Metal” award in the 2010 Metal Hammer Golden God awards ceremony.
