Paramount surprised con-goers when Christopher Nolan went onstage in Hall H. Nolan revealed the first trailer for upcoming science fiction film “Interstellar.” “Interstellar” features a team of space travelers who travel through a wormhole. The world faces shortage of food and supplies, and the only way for humankind to survive is for it to learn interstellar travel. McConaughey plays the leading role of Cooper, a widower, a trained pilot and engineer. When a wormhole is discovered, McConaughey is tasked to save the world. But in order to do so, he must leave his two children behind. Finding himself in the company of various explorers and scientists, Cooper must embark on an epic voyage that will transcend the limits of human space travel.
“Interstellar” features an award-winning cast including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Caine.
Warner Bros., who produced and distributed Nolan’s previous films, made negotiations with Paramount, traditionally a rival studio, to have a financial stake in “Interstellar.” Legendary Pictures, which formerly partnered with Warner Bros., also sought a stake. The three companies co-financed the film written by Nolan and his brother, Jonathan Nolan.
The panel also held sessions on an extended look with its upcoming Ninja Turtles reboot, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” produced by “Transformer’s” Michael Bay. Megan Fox will play the famous April O’Neil, while Wiz Khalifa’s new rap tune, “Shell Shocked,” will be included for its soundtrack.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also made an appearance during the said panel. “Finally, The Rock has come back to Comic-Con!” remarked Johnson, encouraging fans to see his “Hercules” movie.
“Interstellar” is set to be released in theaters in November 2014. It will be released on Nov. 5, 2014 in Belgium, France and Switzerland; Nov. 6, 2014 in the United Kingdom; and Nov. 7, 2014 in the United States and Canada. Paramount will distribute the film in North America, while Warner Bros. will distribute the film in the remaining territories.
