A lot of things can make you happy but if you want instant happiness, you can extract that from Pharrell’s “Happy” song. “Happy” is described as “infectiously enjoyable” by CNN and no one can argue with that. It seems like each and every one of us will shimmy to its bouncy tune whenever we hear it being played.

What is it with this song? Is it the lyrics or the melody? Or is it that joy we feel seeing and listening to Pharrell Williams who is already 40 years old, but doesn’t look his age!

The song became popular when it was played on “Despicable Me 2.” Back then, it has already caught a lot of attention. In fact, when the song was released, it was dubbed right away as an “instant contender for 2013’s Song of the Summer,”  but hey, we’re still hooked until now!

How can you not love this song? It’s uplifting, it’s infectious and it instantly brings in a rush of happiness.

According to CNN, Williams has even collaborated with the United Nations Foundation to celebrate International Day of Happiness on Thursday, March 20, 2014 and encouraged fans to give to the organization as well as to submit content to his  24hoursofhappiness.com Web site. Visitors of the said site were instructed to use the hashtag #HappyDay together with their content and by noon of March 20, 2014, Williams  chose some of the best submissions.

The song “Happy” is one of Williams’ lead singles in his new album “Girl.”
