‘Clown,’ ‘Aftershock’ Lands Distribution

Cross Creek Pictures along with Vertebra Films will unite to finance and ultimately distribute two horror movies with Hostel director Eli Roth producing. The first feature is Clown, a movie about….(ugh, I hate clowns) clowns. Jon Watts is directing with a screenplay he co-wrote with Christopher D. Ford.

Clown follows a loving dad who puts on an old clown suit for his son’s birthday. But when the party is over, “he finds the outfit and make-up won’t come off no matter what he tries, and he himself is changing both psychologically and physically due to it.”

Clown’s video faux trailer went online in October. It’s viral, ya’ll!

Aftershock is set during the “aftermath of the Chilean earthquake back in February, details are scarce on the English-language film other than the backdrop of the disaster will be used to create a film with intensity akin to REC.”

Roth will write the screenplay with Latin-American filmmakers Nicolás López and Guillermo Amoedo. López (Promedio Rojo) will helm.
