Forgive me for the pun, but before you “Clap Your Hands” as a title of a song from 2NE1 goes. It’s not the South Korean girl-group that’s prepping up for a much-awaited comeback but their leader, CL, who’s being tipped off by YG Entertainment to make a return.
According to All Kpop, the 24-year-old is without a doubt returning once more as a solo artist without her bandmates Park Bom, Minzy and Dara. However, reports also claim that this recent development was a last minute tweaking in the YG Entertainment stable.
YG head honcho was quoted in the last month saying, “Firstly, we are focusing on CL, so you can expect good news shortly. We are going to think of 2NE1’s return after the completion of CL’s solo promotions.”
Fans can immediately raise the subject matter of “What about CL’s debut in the U.S.?”
Apparently, her musical endeavors in the western country were not discussed. Innstead, it tackled on YG Entertainment marketing her solely for a solo reappearance in South Korea.
Minzy’s dedication for the girl group’s return has also been brought into consideration. The singer now set her sights on the dance studio academy which she recently opened. Such a business project is close to home to Minzy which requires her full attention.
More importantly, rumors have surfaced that what made YG Entertainment resort to the hard decision of axing the rebirth of the “K-Pop Queens of Digital Download” was Park Bom’s drug-smuggling exploits in 2010. The incident was kept hush-hush to the public until an article surfaced in 2014 on “The Crush” performer’s investigation being chucked out due to preferential treatment.
However, Kpop fans have fanned the flame once more on her past grave misconduct as cited by Kpopy, posting their sentiments on various social media and message boards.
Bom was seen last month near the YG headquarters, according to All Kpop. Possibly, the management had to test the waters if fans have forgiven her for her past actions. Apparently their plan backfired.
