Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton divorce became one of the centers of attention in the recent Country Music Association Awards (CMA) as they were hilariously targeted by the event’s hosts. Read On!
The former power couple of the country music industry, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, are both in good terms now. Shelton is currently dating his fellow “The Voice” judge while Lambert is reportedly has set her eyes to Sam Hunt. Since both of them looks cool with each other’s presence, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood poked fun at the former lovers!
According to UPI, Underwood and Paisley’s opening monologue speech at CMA touched down the issues about the recent celebrity split ups in the industry and obviously, Lambert and Shelton’s recent divorce was mentioned!
Both hosts candidly talked about how “cray cray” the year has been in terms of celebrity relationships. They brought up the names of the former A-List Hollywood couple, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, as well as the “X-Men: Days of Future Past” actress, Halle Berry’s failed marriage with her husband “what’s his name?”
As Underwood and Paisley went on, they finally mentioned their pals’ name, Lambert and Shelton, with a joke beforehand.
The “Something in the Water” songstress started with expressing how breakups affected them. “The one that’s on everyone’s minds, two people who we all know and love. Splitsville,” she added.
The songstress did not directly mentioned her pal’s names, instead, the camera turned its shot to the “Muppets” characters, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, who’re sitting in the audience separately.
The 32-year-old hitmaker went on by conveying her support to the ex-couple in question—“we love you both and want you to be happy.”
Immediately after Underwood’s message, her co-host that night, Paisley, finally had gathered his guts to called out the “Sangria” singer’s name.
“And on a completely unrelated note, Howdy Blake!”
The camera then locked its shot to a smiling and waving Shelton, who seemed enjoying the night.
Paisley didn’t stop right there as he also jokes about Ashley Monroe. “Have you heard the song Blake did with Ashley Madison?” Obviously, he purposely mistook Monroe to the infidelity-web based dating site that was hacked earlier this year.
Blake Shelton, meanwhile, replied to Paisley’s joke using his Twitter account. According to Us Weekly, the singer did not take any offense about it.
Ha!!! Don't worry brother man. If there's anybody on earth who's learned to take it its me!!! Love you buddy. https://t.co/DyGxhGKAtG
