Cobie Smulders welcomes her second child with husband “Saturday Night Live” star Taran Killam.
In an interview with Bustle, the “How I Met Your Mother” actress revealed that she just gave birth three weeks ago. Smulders was promoting two new movies at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
The 32-year-old shared that she can “certainly relate” with her character in “Unexpected.” The film follows the story of two women, a teacher and her student, who find themselves pregnant at the same time.
“It’s my world at the moment, and it’s just so prevalent in the world today. I’m very lucky where I have a great career and a huge support system and not every woman has that. It’s an interesting film because it shows both of those sides,” she explained on Bustle.
Unfortunately, Smulders refused to reveal any other detail about their second child.
According to E! News, the happy couple dated for eight years before finally tying the knot in 2012. They also have an adorable five-year-old daughter Shaelyn Cado.
The “Avengers” star had always been tight-lipped when it comes to her personal life. The unexpected arrival of their second child definitely came at a busy time in her career. But Smulders revealed that they she and her husband were excited to welcome the addition to the family. Up until she gave birth, she says they didn’t know the gender of the second child since they wanted to make it a surprise.
Funnyman Killam says he wanted to be the best father that he can be and wants to spend as much time as he could with the new baby.
“Everything’s healthy and coming along well. I’m hoping my schedule lends itself to a newborn just in that I’m up all night. Hopefully that works out!” he told Us Weekly.
