‘Community’ May Not Be Cancelled Yet; Possible Movie Happening?

The fate of “Community” is still unknown. Is it cancelled or not? Read on for more details.

According to HNGN, Yahoo hasn’t confirmed yet if they have cancelled “Community” after six seasons but the show’s star and “The Soup” host Joel McHale confirmed that the series is over,

“They wanted to renew it. But all our contracts were up after six years. All the actors on the show, almost without exception – their stock has risen significantly and it’s out of the pay rate that is affordable to make the show,” McHale said.

Meanwhile, a Yahoo spokesperson told Headlines & Global News reveal that they are considering renewing the series.

“We’ve seen tremendous value in our partnership with Sony and are continuing to discuss future opportunities for ‘Community.’” the source said.

That being said, there is still a possibility that the series is not officially cancelled.

Show creator Dan Harmon along with “Community’s” cast members have said long ago that they want six season of the series and a movie. However, no one has mentioned about a movie being in the works, though.

However, a “Community” movie is more possible than a seventh season if that is what they talked about long ago.

“Community” aired on NBC for four seasons, but the series didn’t get the ratings the network feels satisfied of so the network called it quits. Yahoo picked up the series for its fifth season.

It looks like Yahoo is not yet ready to throw in the towel, yet.
