Meanwhile, Nurse Gretchen Polk (Jessica Szohr) tried to handle things at the hospital after Dr. Bridget O’Neill (Lauren Stamile) was tasked to look into all the cases Ellison handled that night. Read on to learn more about this episode.

At home, Dr. John Ellison (Jason O’Mara) discovered that he was going to keep his job. Hereassured his wife that everything was fine. Later that night, he realized that his house was being broken into, and told his wife, Samantha “Sam” Ellison (Beth Riesgraf) to lock herself inside their son’s room. He then got the gun in his medical bag, but discovered that it was only CJ (Conphidance), a member of EZ Tyler’s (Anthony K. Hawkins) gang. He left him a cellphone and told him to call a particular number if he needed anything. He also told him that he didn’t need to worry about the Nortenos Locos who bothered him at the hospital as they had killed them.

He then reported the incident to the police, but after talking to Nurse Gretchen Polk (Jessica Szohr), and after remembering how he had brought his little girl, Rebecca “Becky” Ellison (Esme Nix) to the hospital for chemotherapy treatment, he lied to the police and said nothing about it.

However, this wasn’t enough for Sam who became worried about the safety of their family. He reached out to a friend who worked at the District Attorney’s office, whom she had been close to before, and asked for help to get more protection for her and her family.

At work, Gretchen gave Ellison the paperwork for Antoine and told him that Dr. Bridge O’Neill (Lauren Stamile) was asking about Hilary Farmer (Lindsey Garrett), who had tested negative for meningitis. Gretchen then tried to get her to cooperate in covering for Gretchen and Ellison so that she could be free of her boyfriend, but she blackmailed them instead. However, when Bridget came to ask her what had happened to her, she corroborated Gretchen’s story and asked for help.

Meanwhile, over at Ansley Surgical Center, Ellison discovered that Antoine had gone missing, after talking to a nurse named Ramon (Jacob Vargas). As he pulled his thoughts together, he remembered how angry he was after discovering that his baby girl wasn’t getting any better. He then went outside and called Darius Bishop (Chris Chalk), the right-hand man of EZ for help.

He was then ushered to a car, where Darius asked him to get Ramon.

Back inside the hospital, after discovering that Antoine had been sedated after trying to tear his IV out, Ramon and Ellison discovered that he hadn’t been sedated after all as there was a break in the IV drip by his bed. They then discovered him bleeding at the bottom of the stairs leading to the loading dock.

After getting him the treatment he needed, Darius told him that Ellison would take care of him and to go by the name Malcolm, which was the name in his faked record. Afterwards, as Ellison told Darius that he wanted out, Darius told him to meet him at a diner at eleven in the morning the next day.

However, as Ellison and his family sat down to eat breakfast, Gretchen called, as she had gone to Hilary’s boyfriend’s place to get her things with her friend, Jed (Eric Edelstein), a drug addict and the records keeper at Samaritan Hospital, and something had gone wrong, as she had blood on her hands, and he had blood on his shirt.
