The Conjuring star Vera Farmiga has been signed to play Millie Bobby Brown’s mother in the 2014 Gareth Edwards film. The 43-year-old actress has been an experienced horror actress with her participation in Bates Motel, Orphan, and The Departed. Her role in The Conjuring has been noted as a malicious spirit.
With her vast roles played, she was deemed the best choice for a mother role of the intense young actress, Millie Bobby Brown. Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights will play the father as reported by Slash Films.
Brown, Chandler and Farmiga’s characters will hopefully be given the chance to shine unlike in the original Godzilla where Juliette Binoche, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were not given striking roles. For the balancing between action and character, Michael Dougherty is exceptional. That will be proven right in Godzilla 2 which is officially titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
The movie will start production this June in Atlanta, Georgia and probably the complete members of the cast will be revealed. From the original 2014 film, no one has returned to reprise their roles as they were all killed off. The only possible to return is Dr. Ishiro Serizawa played by Ken Watanabe. However, nothing has been said about his return.
The Conjuring Star Vera Farmiga’s New Movie Is A Tale Of Monsters
No details about the plot for Godzilla: King of the Monsters has been disclosed yet but presumably it will follow where the first movie ended. The 2014 movie ended with the beast going to the ocean after killing the MUTOs. Whether it will resurface from the depth will be the thing to watch out.
When Edwards was still the director, it was hinted that there will be three monsters to be introduced – Rodan, Ghidorah, and Mothra. It is still a big question if those monsters will jump into the Dougherty work.
According to Cinema Blend, there is a long-range plan on the monster character Godzilla. Next month, Kong: Skull Island will hit the theaters. In 2020, there is a clash between the gigantic monster and Kong. That will be a massive clash and fans are already aching to watch it happen.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be released on March 22, 2019. Zach Shields co-wrote the script with Dougherty. Will The Conjuring star Vera Farmiga shine once more in this movie?
