Connor Cruise is furious that Caitlyn Jenner will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at this year’s ESPY Awards. To criticize the decision, he made a series of tweets regarding this, which have been deleted later.
According to E! Online, Connor initially tweeted, “Really?? Winning the AA award for courage?? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK’D.”
“Don’t get me wrong. Do what you feel like doing and don’t let anyone stop you. But everyone is taking this way too seriously…There are so many more important things that should be talked about…And SO MANY MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE that actually deserve an award,” tweeted Tom Cruise’s 20-year-old son.
Some fans agreed with Connor Cruise saying that many other people like college basketball star Lauren Hill and Noah Galloway also deserve the award. However, most agreed that Jenner should be the recipient.
The actor argued that there are many more people who deserve the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at this year’s ESPY Awards. Though he has deleted his original tweets later, he attempted to back up his thoughts through the social media platform.
“Totally twisting what I said, if you read what I said I totally support being happy and am glad she is happy,” Connor ranted on Twitter recently, and defended his previous rants.
US Weekly said that Connor tries to “explain the motive behind his online outpouring, and denied any lack of respect for the famous 65-year-old transgender woman,” after deleting his initial provocative tweets about Caitlyn Jenner.
Connor Cruise may not have changed his opinion about Caitlyn Jenner being the recipient of ESPY Courage Award. However, he definitely is defending his Twitter rant about that.
