If you haven’t heard much about jail magnet, Lindsay Lohan, it’s because she’s currently in the UK working on the West End production of “Speed-the-Plow,” where she’s been heard to exclaim that she loves London and is never coming back.

The former Disney child actress, who catapulted to fame in films like “The Parent Trap,” “Freaky Friday” and “Mean Girls,” later appeared on the front pages not because of her accomplishments as a thespian but because of her many arrests and jail time spent over drunk driving, shoplifting, drug use and manic alcoholic partying.

Her legal troubles and much-touted unprofessionalism on set caused her to be collectively shunned in Hollywood, and after a series of film flops and B movies like “Machete” and “The Canyons,” the 28-year-old redhead moved to London early this year to make her stage debut on West End in a role previously played by Madonna.

Appearing onstage at the Playhouse Theater eight times a week as Karen in “Speed-the-Plow,” Lohan, who has never missed a show, is crediting the tough run for helping her withdraw cold turkey from some of her many addictions, like hard partying, drugs and alcohol.

Apparently, being away from temptation (and her equally controversial and exploitative parents) and sinking her teeth into the David Memet play has given her something creative and productive to pour all her energy into.

“In LA I didn’t know what to do apart from go out every night,” she tells The Guardian. “That’s when my friends were free. And I would go out and there would be all these cameras there and that’s when it became difficult.”

“Shock news: Lindsay Lohan can act a bit," wrote Dominic Maxwell of The Times.

Meanwhile, The Guardian’s Chris Wiegand noted that Lohan  “holds the stage with ease."

But her recovery can be credited in part to her celebrity fairy godmother, Oprah Winfrey, who gifted the troubled young actress with counselling sessions and even a reality show — second chances for which Lohan remains grateful for.

Living in London for nine months now has evidently been good for her. The brave and radical move “across the pond” has given her a sense of liberation (she goes on regular runs by herself) and has helped her to grow up (away from the LA party lifestyle).

It looks like we’re never going to see Lindsay Stateside again, as she fervently claims. Apparently, being in jail in LA isn’t all it’s cut out to be, as she claims on this video:
