The royal princess has been introduced to the world after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left the hospital towards Kensington Palace.
The royal princess was publicly seen for the first time sleeping soundly in her mother’s arms, reported BBC News. The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was carrying the baby girl just outside St. Mary’s Hospital, London.
The baby’s name was not yet announced although there are already some suggested names for the royal princess. She was delivered after a short labor on Saturday, May 2 at 8:34 P.M. BST. The Duke of Cambridge was also present at the time the 3.7kg baby girl was born.
Before her hospital discharge, the duchess has stayed a total of 12 hours in the hospital. Meanwhile, the royal princess was born after the couple arrived in St. Mary Hospital’s Lindo Wing less than 3 hours.
The fans of the royal couple waited patiently as well as different media outlets from all over the world. After coming out of the hospital, the couple carrying the royal princess, who was wrapped in white shawl, stood briefly but did not speak to the media. Prince William drove their car back to Kensington Palace.
The crowd was eager to catch a first glimpse of the royal princess. Michelle Lassiter, a charity worker from Guildford, traveled to London after hearing on the radio that the duchess has already given birth to a baby girl.
