Good news for avid viewers of “Married at First Sight”! Want to know how the couples from the first season are doing? Here’s your chance, so read on for more details.

According to Vine Report, the show’s newest season will be called “Married at First Sight: The First Year”. There were speculations that the show will no longer be renewed after the previous season’s viewer outrage created by the couples that were featured: Sean and Davina, Ryan and Jaclyn, and Ryan and Jessica.

IB Times said that viewers were dissatisfied with the last season but they have something better to look forward to this time because there will be no new incompatible pairs to be introduced but in fact, we will all be getting a deeper look into how the favorites from season 1 are currently doing.

The past season left us with couples deciding if they were going to stay with each other or get divorced. In the upcoming season, audiences will see Jamie and Doug, and Cortney and Jason, with their respective journeys from their six-month celebration as married couples, to their one-year anniversary. Christian Today reports that the two couples coped to survive their real-life scuffles and are still married up until this day. This is why the network desires to have the reel-turned-real married couples back for another season of the relationship reality series.

The show will take viewers into milestones like holidays, birthdays, moving into new homes, with the couples marking many “firsts” together. They will also be receiving guidance and advice from the show’s specialists, namely: sexologist, Dr. Logan Levkoff; psychologist, Dr. Joseph Cilona; and sociologist, Dr. Pepper Schwartz.

“Married at First Sight: The First Year” begins airing on October 13.
