Director Craig Gillespie is currently in talks to take on the movie adaptation of the bestselling mash-up novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for Lionsgate.
Gillespie, who directed the upcoming remake of the ’80s horror classic Fright Night, is set for release in 2013. The story, penned by Seth Grahame-Smith, features characters from the Jane Austen story, Pride and Prejudice, set against a zombie-filled backdrop.
Mike White (Freaks and Geeks) was originally slated to direct the feature but has since dropped out.
Gillespie directed the 2007 films Lars and the Real Girl and Mr. Woodcock. Since those two films, Gillespie has been heavily inovled in the award-winning dramedy United States of Tara as both director and producer.
Gillespie’s Fright Night stars Colin Farrell, David Tennant and Toni Collette. The film is slated to land in theaters on Agust 19th.
