According to ON THE FLIX, the official synopsis/spoilers of the season 11 episode 2 of “Criminal Minds” suggested that the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) gets prompted to find the suspect of a recent sarin gas attack before something very bad happens.
In the 2nd episode entitled “The Witness,” a sarin gas attack is about to happen on Los Angeles bus. The BAU would start searching for the suspect before a “larger-scale incident” ruins the place.

Erica Messer, the executive producer of the series, confirmed that Hewitt would not reprise her role in the season 11. She also revealed that Cook would not appear for the first couple of episodes of the new season as she is on maternity leave.
