It includes Kate Callahan (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Jennifer Jareau (AJ Cook). Now, there will be a new character that will fill their hanging spot, which will be played by Tyler. She will be replacing the character of Hewitt who seems to have left the show for good following her second child’s birth.

The showrunner of “Criminal Minds” Erica Messer says before that Jareau will just be absent for roughly five episodes and will eventually come back. As of Hewitt’s role condition, the team is always open if she decided to comeback that the writing team can always work out to plan to reintroduce her in the show.

Messer told Entertainment Weekly (EW)  that Hewitt will always have a place in the show and believe that wholeheartedly off-screen as well.

“One of the great things about our show is you can leave those doors open. We rarely kill anyone. That opportunity for paths to cross again is definitely open,” Hewitt added.

Meanwhile, EW also shared the official background of Tyler’s character. It was reported  that her role is described as “someone who dreams to study psychopaths up close and personal – and her psychology background, combined with her experience in the FBI, brought her face-to-face with monsters. Her job was to stare them down and interview them, in order to determine if they were fit to stand trial. In the process, she made herself find the humanity inside these broken men (and, sometimes, women) in order to learn if there was a conscience behind their brutal crimes.”

On the other hand, fans of the series that will be aired on Sept. 30, 2015 on CBS will be the one to judge if Aisha Tyler’s Dr. Tara Lewis character is capable to be part of this long-running show.
