Last week, we had announced the entry of the great actor Jackie Chan along with Aisha Taylor in “Criminal Minds” season 11. The show is renowned for celebrity cameo and beautifully following the personal stories of some special characters in every season. This time Matthew Gray Gubler’s character Dr. Spencer Reid is likely to get more time in “Criminal Minds” season 11. Read below to get more updates.
According to Enstars, Gubler had earlier shown ray of hopes that his character Dr. Reid’s personal life might get a toehold in season 11 and now it looks like the producers and showrunners are pondering on it. Dr. Reid will possibly get a new forensic team partner and fans are speculating that Taylor’s new character Dr. Tara Lewis, a forensic psychologist, is going to “closely” work with him.
If the duo work closely in the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), it would be amazing to see if their professional intimacy turns into a romance. In a previous interview with TV Guide, “Criminal Minds” showrunner Erica Messer had revealed that there was no possibility of Dr. Reid to hail with a romance with Agent Dorian Loker (Emily Churchill). Even Messer had no plan to feature Churchill in season 11 either.
Another buzz encircling Gubler’s character is the possibility of his mother, Diana Reid’s returning in the show. Jane Lynch will reprise her role as Dr. Reid mother in the upcoming season who was last seen as a schizophrenia patient in season 4. Although there is no confirmation of her complete recovery from the disease, but during season 9, Dr. Reid was seen saying that her mom was doing fine after receiving a number of postcards and a miniature of the Grand Canyon from her.
MNR Daily has reported that “Criminal Minds” fans will see the entry of another new character Tim Kang who had played the role of Kimball Cho in CBS’s “The Mentalist.” However, still now there is no declaration of his role in “Criminal Minds” season 11.
“Criminal Minds” season 11 will be telecast on CBS on Sept. 30, 2015.
