A new poster for the movie “Crimson Peak,” featuring Tom Hiddleston was released today. In an article from Collider, the “Thor” star gives a dead sexy stare in the background of a red skull. Read on for more details.
Set in a house, which, by the director Guillermo Del Toro’s own admission, “breathes, bleeds, and remembers,” “Crimson Peak” gets an R for graphic violence and nudity. Hiddleston looks charmingly murderous as Sir Thomas Sharpe. He is joined by Mia Wasikowska who looks every bit the innocent victim as his wife, Edith Cushing.
When the couple move in to Sharpe’s ancestral home, the eponymous “Crimson Peak,” ghosts from the past appear to scare the couple. If the trailer is anything to go by, this will be one hell of a horror movie to watch.
The film, which is produced by Legendary Pictures and is distributed by Universal Pictures, was initially to star Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Stone. After that couple walked off from the production, Hiddleston who is famous for the portrayal of “Loki” in Marvel’s Avengers took center stage. The film will obviously benefit from the attention Hiddleston gets from the comic book fans. The fact that Del Toro, who is another comic book fans’ favorite, is directing the movie will also help it get attention it deserves.
The trailer is menacingly attention grabbing and gets a rave review from the horror favorite, Stephen King. He said that the movie was “gorgeous and terrifying,” and that it “electrified” him. You can watch the video here.
The videography looks stunning in the trailer. Del Toro said that it was essentially a classical gothic romance ghost story.” He also said that it also features some scenes that would be very disturbing to modern audiences. It is a movie created for adult audiences and should therefore be treated as such. All in all, the movie promises to be a good time for the horror fans.
