‘Crimson Peak’ Update: Guillermo Del Toro Talks About The Drastic Conditions Of Shoot; Calls It Horribly Beautiful Movie!

“Crimson Peak”, the gothic romance tale is all set to hit theatres on October 16, 2015. There is something so beautiful about the movie that each element is contributing towards perfection, from A-list cast to decor of the Mansion.

“Crimson Peak” cast includes Tom Hiddleston who is known for his portrayal of Loki, 2 times Academy nominee Jessica Chastain, “Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam and “Alice In Wonderland” actress Mia Wasikowska.

Guillermo Del Toro who has directed the gothic romance tale and co-written it with Matthew Robins, recently revealed in his interview with Variety that shooting conditions for the movie were chilly and Jessica Chastain went to dark places.

“It was hard to see Jessica go through it; she’s normally of a very sunny disposition, and she really was sort of depressed and dark during the shoot. But she really wanted to go there to understand Lucille, because everything Lucille does, she does for love. It’s just the wrong kind of love. She understood that, and it took her to a very dark place,” added the director.

Del Toro is known to achieve perfection, and with “Crimson Peak” he has left no stone unturned. For a scene, where Chastain’s character Lucille had to be in a “hyperstate,” she was suggested by Del Toro to drink lots of espresso.

Mia Wasikowska also opened up about shooting and said that Del Toro is a perfect blend of a direct who knows how to balance between pushing and bullying. He allows his cast to have opinions about the character they are going to play.

Talking about freedom to play the character of Sir Thomas Sharpe, Tom Hiddleston expressed that they since started comparing it to Rochester of “Jane Eyre.” The standards were set high since start.

“There were archetypes we needed to present, to create expectations which we could subvert and confound,” added Tom Hiddleston, as reported by Wall Street Journal.
