The CW has a new show that viewers can look forward to which is very different from the rest of their shows. The network is about to introduce “Jane the Virgin,” adapted from a Venezuelan telenovela created by Perla Farías. Read on for the CW’s “Jane the Virgin” sneak peek to find out more about this new exciting show.
According to The Wrap, “Jane the Virgin” follows a story of a young Latina woman who is religious and a virgin who got accidentally artificially inseminated with the sperm of a hot billionaire. We’re thinking along the lines of Mr. Grey of “Fifty Shades of Grey” when it comes to that “dreamy billionaire.”
As stated in the official Web site of “Jane the Virgin,” Gina Rodriguez stars as Jane Villanueva, the titular virgin whose life will be turned upside down once she learns that she’s pregnant and haven’t even had sex yet! Executive produced by Jenny Snyder Urman, Ben Silverman,Gary Pearl, Jorge Granier and Brad Silbering.
Her character was raised in the most conservative way by her grandmother, Alba (Ivonne Coll), who convinced her that she should always protect her virginity at all costs. At 23, she’s a driven young woman who’s studying to become a teacher and dreams of becoming a writer. She supports herself by working in a new hotel in Miami. Her mother and her grandmother have given Jane an unrealistic view when it comes to romance. Fortunately for her, she found a wonderful fiancé named Michael (Brett Dier), who loves her enough to accept her virtues, meaning saving her virginity until they are wed. Isn’t that so adorable?
However, when Jane sees a doctor for her routine check-up, she was stunned to find out that she was accidentally artificially inseminated! The procedure was meant for the patient in the next room. The sperm owner is the billionaire Rafael (Justin Baldoni) who is a married man, a former playboy and a cancer survivor. The question is, will she continue with the pregnancy? And, what’s going to happen to her and her wonderful fiancé? Plus, the billionaire has a scheming wife named Petra! Uh-oh, we smell trouble!
