Da Vinci’s Demons Renewed for a Third Season

“Da Vinci’s Demons” has been renewed for a third season. Yes, you read that right. Da Vinci’s tale is not yet over and we’re still going to see a lot of it. Read on to find out more about the “Da Vinci’s Demons” Season 3.

According to Deadline, not only has the TV show “Da Vinci’s Demons” been renewed for a third season, but a new showrunner is up as well, John Shiban of (“The X Files,” “The Lone Gunmen,” “Star Trek: Enterprise,” “Smallville,” “Supernatural,” “Legend of the Seeker,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Vampire Diaries”) will join the show while David S. Goyer, the creator of the show will continue to be the executive producer.

According to a statement from Goyer, which was published on ir.starz.com, he is proud of the said show and is excited to be a part of it.

“I’m very proud of this modern take on the endlessly fascinating Leonardo da Vinci – everyone from the writers, directors, cast and all the crew have been invaluable and will continue to be for what we have ahead. I’ve been a fan of John’s work for some time and I’m excited to add his voice to the mix,”  said Goyer.

Carmi Zlotnik, the managing director of Starz also spoke in behalf of the company about their excitement for the “Da Vinci’s Demons” Season 3.

“We’re excited to continue Leonardo da Vinci’s adventures with a third season of ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ with John Shiban joining the ranks as executive producer and showrunner. David S. Goyer’s vision of da Vinci’s journey continues to entertain fans, taking them deeper into the world of Da Vinci’s Demons where there is still much more story to tell,” Zlotnik in a statement published on ir.starz.com.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), “Da Vinci’s Demons,” which airs every Saturday on Starz, gained an average of 3.7 million total viewers all across platforms . And this right here, is no wonder why a Season 3 for the said show is in order.

The production for  “Da Vinci’s Demons” Season 3 will reportedly begin in Wales in the spring for its return in 2015.

With the “Da Vinci’s Demons” being renewed for a third season, it has become the first original drama series of Starz to earn another 3rd season following “Spartacus.” The show joins a number of originals such as “Black Sails” and upcoming shows such as “Power,” “Outlander,” “Flesh and Bone,” “The Missing,” and comedies “Blunt Talk” and “Survivor’s Remorse.”

Deadline also reported that Starz is teaming up with Shiban to develop “Blackbirds.”

Are you excited now that “Da Vinci’s Demons” has been renewed for a third season? With Shiban on board, it’s going to be even more interesting now. “Da Vinci’s Demons” Season 2 is currently airing every Saturday at 9/8c on Starz. The latest episode (Season 2 Episode 7 “The Vault of Heaven”) aired on May 3, 2014.
