“Fifty Shades of Grey” actress, Dakota Johnson expressed her doubt in “Fifty Shades Darker” after losing director Sam Taylor-Johnson. Does it mean the actress thinks that the sequel will not be that great as the first film?
The 25-year-old actress was caught in a moment of fear when she found out that the director of her romance-erotic film “Fifty Shades of Grey” will not be returning for the film’s sequel. Taylor-Johnson who directed the $569 million box office hit movie was now replaced by the director of “House of Cards,” James Foley.
Taylor-Johnson has a big part in making the “Fifty Shades” as one of the most watched and most-awaited film worldwide and losing him might have a big impact on the film since aside from E.L James, the author of the erotic novel, Taylor-Johnson was the one who’s familiar with every part of the film; the characters and the story.
Moreover, when the director quit the franchise, Dakota admitted to the Empire that she felt a range of emotions, especially when the team are still in search for the movie’s newest director.
Many fans thought that Dakota felt nervous that the movie will not be as great as the previous film, but it looks like it’s the other way around as the actress expressed her excitement in reprising her role as Anastasia Steele and working with her new director, Foley.
In her interview with Empire, Dakota said that she did felt afraid because she doesn’t know what will happen when Taylor-Johnson quit as she already had an experience in working with the director before, but then it all went away when he was replaced by James Foley. However, she felt that Foley will do a great job in as he is a talented filmmaker.
“Now I’m excited…How often do you get to reconvene with the same people with a different spin?” Dakota commented.
Adding on, Cinemablend reported that Dakota has met Foley, but when asked about it, the actress refused to disclose what they talked about.
On the other hand, as expected, many fans are excited about Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan’s “Fifty Shades Darker,” and if you are one of those fanatics who’s having hesitation on the new director, no worries! Though James Foley was known for his television projects like “Wayward Pines,” “Hannibal” and “House of Cards,” he still had a long history in making worth watching films like “At Close Range,” “Glengary Geln Ross” and Madonna’s “Who’s That Girl?”
