Remember the evil child? Yes, we are talking about Damien, the child from the movie “Omen.” Talks about the movie’s development into a TV series have been circling around for months now, and Lifetime has just confirmed that they have ordered Glen Mazarra’s thriller, “Damien,” into a series. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

This time around, we are going to see Damien in a different light since he will no longer be a child. The focus will be on his life as an adult. Coming from such a horrible and unresolved past, he now faces his past one more time and meets his true destiny. He is the Antichrist.

“We are thrilled to be bringing a contemporary version of ‘The Omen’s’ Damien Thorn back to the screen. Glen Mazzara has re-imagined him as a dark, romantic, anti-hero and this fresh take blends complex characters with premium storytelling to make something truly original,” said Lifetime’s Executive Vice President and General Manager Rob Sharenow as published on HitFix.

“’The Omen’ is a jewel in the crown of the Fox features library; we are gratified and eager to bring a new iteration of ‘Damien’ and this iconic story to television – and to a new audience – through the vision of Glen Mazzara,” remarked to Nancy Cotton, SVP of Fox TV Studios.

“Damien” marks Mazarra’s first TV show since he exits “The Walking Dead” as showrunner. The series will consist of six episodes and Fox Television Studios will produce it. “Damien” is set to be launched in 2015.
