Dance Moms Cast Update: Maddie Ziegler Explains the Real Story of “Elastic Heart”

Dance Moms” rising star Maddie Ziegler thought a lot of people did not understand Sia’s music video, “Elastic Heart.” The video was widely criticized by conservatives thinking that it had pedophilia concepts. Finally, Ziegler cleared the air of doubt by explaining her video with “Transformers” star Shia LaBeouf. Read on for details.

Ziegler definitely caught the attention of the mainstream entertainment industry. In an exclusive interview with the prestigious Teen Vogue at a studio in West Hollywood, Ziegler first shared her exciting moments at the Grammy Awards. She talked about paparazzi begging her to do ridiculous things on the red carpet like doing a somersault, her meet-up backstage with worldwide phenomenon Sam Smith and the epic fail rehearsal with Saturday Night Live (SNL) star Kristen Wiig because of weakly installed props.

Because of the epic and long-term success of “Chandelier,” Ziegler was invited to do another project with Sia. “Elastic Heart” is the second and most controversial video of the trilogy. Behind the scenes, Ziegler described LaBeouf as “the sweetest person” because he took her and her lucky mother, Melissa Ziegler, to a food trip.

Ziegler was totally aware that some people became uncomfortable with “Elastic Heart.” She explained that she was a wolf in the video while LaBeouf was a human. She said despite her tiny size, she successfully slayed LaBeouf in the cage.

“It was so cool because I’m the tiny one, but I’m trying to kill him,” Ziegler said.

What is next for Ziegler? The home-schooled superstar playfully said she would have a lot of algebra to do. Then, she joked how horrible sixth-grade life is.

“Dance Moms” Season 5 airs every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. on Lifetime.
