The popular dance competition program that features stage mothers and talented kids is back after a two-month break. “Dance Moms” is one of Lifetime’s famous reality shows that will have its Season 5 premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at 9:00 p.m. Read on for further details.
The official tagline of the fifth season is “Abby’s Going Hollywood.” The season’s main location will be on the West Coast.
The premiere episode title is “99 Problems but a Mom Ain’t One.” According to Christian Today, the synopsis’ vague description is the episode will focus on a coach’s lawsuit and a dancer leaving the group. The site concluded that Chloe Lukasiak will not take part anymore in the fifth season. On the other hand, Paige Hyland was the one who filed for a lawsuit against Miller.
In the Season 4 finale “Hollywood Here We Come Part 1,” the 48-year-old Abby Lee Miller decided to open a second studio in Los Angeles. Although the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is still functioning, ALDC LA will be the focal point of this season.
Returning characters are Kendall Vertes, 12; Nia Frazer, 13; Mackenzie Ziegler, 10; and Maddie, 12, with their mothers.
Two new characters are going to take part. “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition” (AUDC) contestant and former “Dance Moms” Season 3 star Kalani Hilliker, 14, is going to return with her mother, Kira Girard. Miller announced in the Season 4 premiere that Hilliker would not take part anymore because Girard “chooses her boyfriend over her own child.” According to IBTimes in August 2014, Girard said Hilliker’s absence from the show was to spend more family time.
IBTimes reported in November 2014 that “AUDC” Season 2 contestant JoJo Siwa, 11, will be another member in Abby’s team.
“Dance Moms” is produced by Collins Avenue Entertainment. Executive producers are Bryan Stinson, Gena McCarthy, Mike Aho, John R. Corella, Kimberly Chessler, Michael Hammond, Robert Caplain and Scott Shatsky.
