The current season of Dancing With the Stars is a competitive one with the four remaining celebrities delivered strong performances during the last episode Monday night. Katherine Jenkins, Maria Menounos, Donald Driver, and William Levy each performed two dances and they earned good reviews from the judges.
Among the four, Maria Menounos takes the lead as she got a combined score of 59, which is just a point away from the perfect 60. Head judge Len Goodman said that she was caught up in the whole thing after Menounos and her partner Derek Hough performed a sultry Argentinian tango.
William Levy is just a point behind Maria Menounos as he combined impressive dance moves with a touching personal story. He told the audience that he grew up in dire conditions. The Cuban-born actor said that he only dreamed of opening the refrigerator and finding food inside. He added that being raised poor motivated him to succeed.
Veteran NFL receiver Donald Driver said he also had a tough childhood. He revealed that he and his four siblings used to live under a bridge with their single mother in Houston, Texas. His mother said that the Mirror Ball trophy would look good next to the Super Bowl trophy. Driver got a 57 for his performances.
Katherine Jenkins got the lowest score for the night but it is still impressive at 56 points. Her second dance of the night was a snake-charmer themed salsa where Jenkins appeared to throw out her lower back. After the performance, she apologized to her dance partner Mark Ballas.
Despite the mistake, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba still complimented the singer for her performance. Jenkins’ other dance is a 1920s quick step and received praise for it. Judge Inaba said complimented her for bringing her A+ game during the semifinals of Dancing With the Stars.
