Last Monday night, the three finalists of the Dancing With the Stars performed well. But it looks like Green Bay Packer star Donald Driver will be the one to take home the bacon. Driver, Katherine Jenkins, and William Levy danced as if there’s no tomorrow during first night of the season finale. They performed two dances each with their respective pro partners.
The first dance was chosen by the judges for the participants. The second dance was a freestyle performance where the dancers were given free reign over the dance floor. Among the three, Driver took the spotlight.
Jenkins channeled her inner 1920s diva as she displayed her singing prowess during her flappers-inspired freestyle dance. According to New York dancing pro New Melo, if the competition was based on the pro partners then Mark Ballas should win it. The opera star kept up with her partner Ballas in both movement and facial expression, which made judge Carrie Ann Inaba to tag her as a champion.
But even if Jenkins got the high score of the night, NFL player Driver got the attention of the judges and the audience with his country and hip-hop inspired dance. Head judge Len Goodman gave Driver a 10, which was his first perfect score in Dancing With the Stars.
The last finalist to take the stage was Latin soap opera star William Levy, who was said to be the safest one among the final three despite his sensual movements. His performance failed to impress Judge Goodman. He expected more risks at this stage of the competition. Melo said that William was a Latin lover at the beginning of the contest and he was still the same at the very end.
The three finalists will return to the stage to perform for a last time. Then everyone will find out who will bring home the mirror ball trophy.
