The most awaited return of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” is finally on with news of its star-studded cast revealed on the network’s “Good Morning America” on Feb. 24, 2015.
The “DWTS” fans will see a new batch of celebrities prepare to show off their skills as they try to dance their way into the finale.
Derek Hough, an Emmy Award-winning choreographer, is back in Season 20 and has yet to be the show’s most surprising twist. In the last season of “DWTS,” Hough announced that he will no longer be performing in the show because of his commitment to the Radio City Spring Spectacular.
“This all happened literally two days ago,” Hough said on “Good Morning America,” via Yahoo!. He admitted that he had a “little heartbreak” that he wasn’t going to be at the show’s 10th anniversary and that he hopes they can make it the show’s best season yet. Hough will be paired with Nastia Liukin, an Olympic champion gymnast.
Television icon Suzanne Somers will be paired with Tony Dovolani. Other pairs include “Shark Tank” star and millionaire Robert Herjavec with Kym Johnson, Pattie Labelle with Artem Chigvintsev, Rumer Willis with Val Chmerkovskiy, and R5’s Riker Lynch with Allison Holker.
Charlotte McKinney, who became known for her racy Super Bowl ad for Carl’s Jr., will be dancing with Keo Motstene. “Party Rock Anthem” singer from LMFAO Redfoo is paired with Emma Slater while “The Hunger Games” actress Willow Shields is paired with Mark Ballas. Witney Carson’s pair is still yet to be announced.
Former St. Louis Rams player, Michael Sam will be paired with Peta Murgatroyd. Michael Sam was the first openly gay player in the NFL, and according to him, he was cut from the league because of that. According to TMZ, Sam has vowed to get back in the league on March 22, 2015.
Some fans may not be familiar with Noah Galloway, who will be dancing with Sharna Burgess. Galloway is a former U.S. Army veteran, who lost his left arm and leg in an IED attack. His story and performance will surely bring inspiration to everyone.
“Dancing with the Stars” Season 20 premieres on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
