Daredevil is a beloved superhero and an action-filled movie on the great Daredevil is still pending. “Daredevil” movie, which starred Ben Affleck released in 2003, did okay at the box-office. It received mixed-reactions from fans but was not upto the expectations.
Ben Affleck starring “Daredevil” earned $179.1 million around worldwide box-office. “Daredevil” movie is rated at 44% positive reviews from Rotten Tomatoes and received 5.3 rating on IMDb. In his recent interview with DailyNews, Matt Damon revealed that Affleck is not proud of his “Daredevil” movie!
Matt Damon admitted that he turned down that “Daredevil” movie because he wasn’t sure of director’s capability but Affleck agreed on doing it.
Damon added, “For us it was always “Daredevil” — that’s the comic we read when we were kids. But when that one came along (in 2003) I chickened out, because I couldn’t tell. I hadn’t seen the director (Mark Steven Johnson’s) work and I didn’t know. So I just said, ‘No.’ Ben was like, ‘I gotta do it.’ And the movie ended up doing very well, even though I don’t think Ben was ultimately very proud of it.”
While promoting his movie “The Martian,” which has turned out to be a huge box-office success, Damon revealed that if Chris Nolan would ask him, he would take up “Daredevil” project and star in it. Although, he knows it is not possible with Marvel Studios and Disney holding the rights currently.
NY Daily News writes, “That [Matt Damon in “Daredevil”] seems unlikely, because Charlie Cox is playing the blind vigilante in an acclaimed Netflix series. And Nolan is tied to Warner Bros.’ heroes as a director and producer, making him an arch-nemesis of Marvel, which holds the rights to ‘Daredevil.”
Matt Damon is currently busy filming the new installment from box-office blockbuster “Bourne” series.
