Deadpool just gets more interesting. The “Merc with a mouth” character is all set to hit the big screens in February next year, just confirmed its villains. Looks like Ajax and Cable are coming to town. Read on to find out more.
In the upcoming “Deadpool” movie, Ryan Reynolds plays an unkillable mercenary who can regenerate from any possible damage, whilst delivering sarcastic comments and bad jokes. So what kind of antagonist poses a threat to such a vastly overpowered hero? It looks like Ajax and Cable.
Being played by Ed Skrein (star of the new “Transporter”movie, also NOT Jason Statham), Ajax used to be the warden at the “Weapon X” program that Wolverine and Deadpool participated in, albeit unwillingly. Having been experimented by the memorably named Dr. Killebrew, Ajax is stronger, faster and smarter than any man. Also, he had his nerves removed so that he does not feel any pain. Talk about bad-ass.
Skrein however, has mentioned that he sees Ajax as a misunderstood character. We see him in the trailer taunting Deadpool, no doubt we will also see him in receiving his comeuppance in the end.
Set to appear in the sequel for “Deadpool,” Cable is the famous time-travelling mutant in Marvel Comics who teamed up with Deadpool on occasion. He is a telepath, houses a techno-organic virus in his arm and eye, and is most famously known for being mean as hell. The child of Cyclops and a cloned Jean Gray (Madelyne Pryor). He also starred in the completely insane comic book series, “Cable and Deadpool,” in which he is lobotomised, hurt, shot at and once even puked on by Deadpool (whilst they are in the same team).
While Cable is not confirmed yet, director Tim Miller has hinted at it pretty strongly, Movie Pilot is reporting.
“There aren’t really many definitive Deadpool villains, apart from Cable. If we don’t put Cable in Deadpool 2 I think we’ll be run out of town on a rail.”
