“Devious Maids” is Lifetime’s fast-growing scripted dramedy series and was greatly influenced by the hit TV show “”Desperate Housewives. One of the executive producers of the show is none other than Eva Longoria. She teamed up with Marc Cherry. Of course, we had that coming since they both worked previously on “Desperate Housewives.” “Devious Maids” premiered on June 23, 2013 on Lifetime, and now they’re back on its second season since it has become a great hit and fans of the show keep coming back for more. The dramedy series actually hit 3.0 million total viewers. The lead role is played by Ana Ortiz and is supported by Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes as the other maids. Cherry created the series but the pilot is based on the Mexican TV series “Ellas son la Alegria del Hogar,” which means “they are the joy of the home.” “Devious Maids” is about four ambitious Latina maids who work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. The “Devious Maids” Season 1 finale (Episode 13 “Totally Clean”), which was aired on September 22, 2013, was satisfying since we all know who killed Flora Hernandez. Everyone knew it was Philippe except for Genevieve (Susan Lucci) and as he was about to kill another maid which is Marisol (Ana Ortiz), the lead star. It’s a good thing that the Powells (Tom Irwin and Rebecca Wisocky) drugged him and organized his suicide in revenge for Adrian for killing his maid. When Philippe was about to collapse from the drug that was slipped into his drink, Adrian yelled at him and said that Philippe killed his maid. He also asked him if he knew that it was hard to find good help as he tossed Philippe’s lifeless body from the window, where it landed in the pool.
Meanwhile, the police arrived and were speculating that it was suicide since the Philippe’s body was in the pool for only a minute, but the detectives got the idea that he was dead before he hit the water. Adrian attested that Philippe confessed to murdering Flora and that he could no longer live with himself. Evelyn backed up Adrian’s statement as well as Rosie, Carmen and Zoila although the detectives were still suspicious.
On the lighter side, Carmen(Roselyn Sanchez) was offered a music career by Alejandro (Matt Cedeno) in order to overcome gay rumors and all she needs to do is to enter into a two-year marriage contract She will be given everything and that includes a record deal. Zoila (Judy Reyes) on the other hand, is doing the usual by always doing what’s best for her daughter Valentina (Edy Ganem), to the point of persuading Remy (Drew Van Acker) to write a letter that says that he would see her in a year. The climax of the “Devious Maids” Season 1 Finale Episode 13 “Totally Clean” was when the maids were having a picnic and the immigration cops arrested Rosie (Dania Ramirez) while Peri (Mariana Klaveno) was standing at the side of the park, grinning. She is not going to let her get away with her husband Spence (Grant Show) since she heard that he proposed to Rosie and offered to adopt her son.
