Disney Princess Franchise May Undergo Significant Change from Disney
Frozen 2

Many people might be wondering whether Elsa and Anna become the official members of the Disney Princess franchise. The “Frozen” characters have become immensely popular over a period of time and it is the third quarter of 2015 now and there is no information yet of them to be included in the list of Disney Princesses. Read on for more details.

People are making a lot of speculations as to why this is not happening. However, it is believed that Disney is in plans to make some significant changes in the franchise of Disney Princesses. Take a look at the list:

  • Snow White
  • Cinderella
  • Aurora
  • Ariel
  • Belle
  • Jasmine
  • Pocahontas
  • Mulan
  • Tiana
  • Rapunzel
  • Merida
  • Moana

As we can make out from the previous Disney movie releases, all of their efforts are directed towards making the original princess. The big question, however, is: Are they trying to stop using fairy tales for making Disney Princess? In case this is true, this can be the reason to explain why Elsa and Anna are still not in the list. Just like its predecessors, Frozen is based on the fairy tale.

Let us make a quick analysis of the situation. Till this time, as per Movie Pilot, Princess franchise has in total of eleven official members namely, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida and Moana.

The first six, ninth and tenth Disney Princess has been taken from fairy tales from Germany, France, Danish and Arabian countries. Apart from them, the seventh and eighth Disney Princesses are based loosely on the actual legendary and historical figures.

At the bottom of the list is a fictional character which is developed by Pixar. Moana, the upcoming Disney Princess is also likely to be a fictional Polynesian character and since the Frozen princess has never been crowned yet, it may be concluded that Disney is less inspired by famous fairy tales.

Honestly, only a green light is required from the final decision makers, if Disney has any intention to make these sisters members of the Disney Princess franchise. All the other tasks can be kept for later on.
