With Emma Watson on board as their Belle, Disney is reportedly busy negotiating with their prospects for the roles of the male lead Beast/Cursed Prince and the main antagonist Gaston. Any ideas on who they are? Find out!

Variety reports that Luke Evans from ‘Dracula Untold’ and ‘Fast and Furious 6’ is currently under negotiations to play Gaston for the live-action retelling of ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Represented by United Agents and WME, Evans is also up for two of Ben Wheatley’s movies, ‘High Rise’, to be released sometime this year, and ‘Free Fire’ which is to begin shooting soon. As of now, he is shooting ‘Message From the King’ with Chadwick Boseman.

Also in the latest news, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that Dan Stevens, who played Sir Lancelot in ‘Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb’, is also under negotiations to star as the Beast for the movie. He is represented by the Julian Belfrage Associates, Peikoff Mahan, and WME.

Disney has not yet released any official confirmation of the casting news. In addition to this, they have also not yet released further details about the movie itself. Meanwhile, the movie’s female lead, Emma Watson, implied that the movie will be a musical like the original animated film through the announcement of her accepting the role via Facebook. “I’m finally able to tell you… that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast! … Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it,” she said.

Aside from ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Disney is currently working on ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Pete’s Dragon. The live-action movie of ‘Cinderella’ will be released in US theaters on Friday, March 13.
