The final installment to the “Divergent” franchise titled, “Allegiant” will be split in half and the last two installments were formerly known as “Divergent: Allegiant – Part 1” and “Divergent: Allegiant – Part 2.” However, MTV News recently reported that changes were made to the sequels’ titles.
The first part will be called, “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” and the second part will be named, “The Divergent Series: Ascendant.” Back then, the outlet noted that while this change in titles does not bear any significance to the movie’s plot, the final movie’s tagline, “The End Is Never What You Expect” seemingly hinted that the ending may be changed after all.
As most book fans know, Shailene Woodley’s character, Beatrice ‘Tris’ Prior did not make it out alive in Veronica Roth’s series. However, several fans started an ongoing petition to change the ending of the movie and see Tris and Four (Theo James) together.

Meanwhile, “Divergent” series author Veronica Roth expressed her thoughts about the recent changes to the titles, Design & Trend cited.
“I know changes always makes fans of the books – and the author! – nervous, but hopefully the characters we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing,” Roth said.
