Shailene Woodley and Theo James have been involved in dating rumors following the hit success of their onscreen love team for the “Divergent” series. Now, the former director of the franchise, Neil Burger revealed that Woodley was intimidated by James. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
“Divergent” is one of the most successful book-based movies to ever hit the big screen next to “Twilight,” “Harry Potter,” and “Maze Runner.” While the franchise is gearing up for its last and final installment, “Allegiant” movie, which comes out on March 2016, dating rumors between its stars, Shailene Woodley and Theo James are not dying down.
Theo James has consistently denied rumors that there is anything special going on between him and Woodley and has recently been vocal about his relationship with his wife, Ruth Kearney. As previously reported, James revealed his likes and dislikes in women and admitted that he is most scared about doing something embarrassing during sex.
While a relationship between James and Woodley is highly unlikely, the two stars still exhibit undeniable chemistry on screen as Four and Tris, respectively. As a matter of fact, “Divergent” director Neil Burger revealed that James was the perfect man to star alongside “The Fault in Our Stars” actress.
“We needed somebody who was a man, who was really strong and could push,” he said, wrote Classicalite.
According to Burger, Woodley oftentimes pushes on her co-stars, which led them to seek out for an actor who could push stronger, and this is where James came in.
“Shailene was just a little intimidated by him, and she hadn’t been by any of the other actors,” Burger added.
Well it would make a lot of sense for Woodley to feel intimidated by James, especially now that James was recently named as the new face of Boss Parfums. According to People, the 30-year-old actor will be following the footsteps of former Boss Parfums Ambassadors, Victor Cruz, Ryan Reynolds and Gerard Butler.
“I’m honored to be representing Boss Parfums as an Ambassador in their latest perfume campaign,” said James in a press release.
James also admitted that he has been a fan of Boss “for achieving the perfect balance between the classic and the contemporary.”
“Divergent: Allegiant Part 1” hits theatres on March 2016. Part 2 will be released in 2017. Stay tuned on Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates.
