“Doctor Strange” aka the “Sorcerer Supreme” will be gracing the screens in November next year and despite the fact that nothing much is known about the movie, fans already know that the movie is going to establish a new milestone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially, when you have a talented cast like Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the movie, expectations are bound to rise. A latest update reveals Chiwetel talking about his role in the movie.
According to Screen Rant, the first concept art of the movie released at the Disney D23 Expo in August hinted something really amazing about the movie. The art showed “Doctor Strange” in a mystical and magnificent avatar that further got the fans excited. Story of the movie has been kept under wraps for now, but what we all know is that the movie boasts of a highly talented cast.
Latest updates, however, will come as a pleasant surprise as Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is rumored to be playing the villain Baron Mordo in the movie, opened up about the role. The actor stated that he is indeed a part of “Doctor Strange” and is incredibly excited about it. He also mentioned about how Benedict is a good friend of his and it will be fun to work with him ever since they worked together in “12 Years a Slave.” Despite having not worked with Tilda Swinton earlier, Chiwetel said that he is also very excited to work with her in the movie.
Comicbook.com also confirmed Chiwetel’s participation in the movie and stated that the actor is ready to do some magic in the film. For all those who are unaware, in the comic book Doctor Strange used to be a wealth greedy neurosurgeon before he met with an accident and lost the capability to perform surgeries. He happened to meet Ancient One who was actually Earth’s sorcerer supreme at the time. Though refusing to help Doctor Strange at first, the sorcerer taught him everything about the mystical arts after Doctor Strange saved the sorcerer supreme from a former student of his called Baron Mordo. It is said that Baron and Doctor Strange became sworn enemies from that point. It would be interesting to see both Benedict and Chiwetel together on-screen again going head to head against each other.
Apart from the aforementioned cast, Rachel McAdams is also rumored to be a part of the movie though nothing has been confirmed yet. “Doctor Strange” will look into establishing a new franchise in Marvel’s Phase three when it releases next year.
