Whovians, Series 8 of “Doctor Who” may have wrapped up, but a Christmas Special is on its way, and BBC has released the first clip the show's upcoming offer. Read on for further details.
Clara and the Doctor might have separated in the Series 8 finale, but it looks like they are going to be in another adventure together. The clip showed Santa Claus, played by Nick Frost, talking to Clara, and she clearly emphasizes to Santa that he’s only a fairytale, and the presents under the tree aren’t really from him but from her parents. Two elves are present there, as well as they contradict Clara’s notion of Santa Claus until the Doctor arrives in the TARDIS, and Clara is surprised.
It looks like some time has passed since their separation; hence, Clara’s reaction when she sees the Doctor. Then both of them go to the TARDIS.
We wonder what’s up with that. BBC has released the synopsis for “Doctor Who” Christmas Special 2014:
It’s Christmas in the North Pole when the Doctor and Clara return to BBC American in an all-new Christmas special. Last years’ special featured the emotional regeneration that marked the start of Peter Capaldi’s run as the Twelfth Doctor. This year the Time Lord and his companion are in for an all-new adventure as stars Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are joined by Nick Frost (The Worlds End, Shaun of the Dead) as Santa Claus!
The Christmas Special is written by Steven Moffat and directed by Paul Wilmshurst. The guest stars include: Natalie Gumede, Michael Troughton, Faye Marsay and Nathan McMullen.
