Will Agent 007 team up with the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Bill (Pearl Mackie) in Doctor Who Series 10? Showrunner Steven Moffat revealed that he wants his sci-fi hero to meet James Bond.
There is an on-going theory that claims that the popular spy is actually another Time Lord. In 54 years and 26 movies, James Bond has changed his face multiple times and without explanation. It will not be a surprise if he turned out to be another alien who can change his face.
James Bond vs Doctor Who
This year, the long-running sci-fi show will jump onboard the superhero blockbuster bandwagon with The Return of Doctor Mysterio. In the upcoming episode (the only one Whovians will get this year), the Doctor and Nardole (Matt Lucas) will team up with a Superman-like character in New York City.
After this year’s holiday special, Moffat wants more crossovers in the future.
“Doing a James Bond [themed] Doctor Who for Christmas? Well, I’m running out of Christmases to do,” the award-winning screenwriter was quoted by Digital Spy. “I’d like Doctor Who to meet the real James Bond, that’d be awesome. They wouldn’t get on at all.”
Moreover, Moffat revealed that Agent 007 might attempt to sleep with the Doctor’s female companion. “He’d shag his assistant,” he added.
Doctor Who Series 10
The next installment to the BBC’s Doctor Who will see Capaldi return as the Twelfth Doctor. Newcomer, Mackie, replaces Jenna Coleman as the Time Lord’s companion. Lucas will reprise his The Husbands of River Song role, Nardole.
The 58-year-old Scottish also teased that Series 10 might serve as a “fresh start” as the new companion steps into the TARDIS. Capaldi explained in a special screening in London for The Return of Doctor Mysterio, the series will go back to its roots.
Doctor Who Series 10 will premiere in April 2017 on BBC.
