This season of Dancing With the Stars was said to be the most competitive one so far. After weeks of rehearsals and memorable performances, three were left to compete for the crown. The three pairs left were Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd, and William Levy and Cheryl Burke.
After the two night finale, it was announced that Donald Driver won the mirror ball trophy. For the last night of the season, the dancing couples had 24 hours to make a final routine for the judges. The scores of the final performances, combined with the ones from the night before and America’s votes determined the winners of Dancing With the Stars. And the winners were Donald Driver and his partner Peta Murgatroyd.
When asked by host Tom Bergeron how he felt in winning the mirror ball trophy, Driver shouted, “Amazing!” He was congratulated by the other competitors of the show. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas finished in second place and William Levy and Cheryl Burke were in third.
William Levy said that he had an amazing experience during the run of the show and he would miss everyone. Katherine Jenkins thanked her partner and said that the experience on the show was like a dream. Mark Ballas said that he had a wonderful time working with his partner.
William and Cheryl did a salsa dance that earned a perfect 30 and was praised by the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba said that the actor have that star quality that makes him special. Then Katherine and Mark took on the dance floor with a spunky jive and they also received a perfect 30. Judge Bruno told her that she was one of the greatest competitors that have graced the show. Last that went on stage was Donald and Peta, who danced the cha cha. They also earned a perfect 30 and Donald was complimented by Judge Len for being the best footballer who have joined the contest.
