DreamWorks Animation and Awesomeness TV Launched DreamWorks TV YouTube Channel [WATCH VIDEO]

Big news for animation lovers! The brand new YouTube channel named DreamWorks TV YouTube channel came from DreamWorks Animation (DWA) and Awesomeness TV.  A number of DreamWorks Animation’s most treasured characters are now on YouTube channel. It was launched on June 16, 2014. Read on for Movie News Guide’s (MNG) report on the joint venture of the Awesomeness TV and DreamWorks TV for new thrilling programs.

“Shrek,” “Puss in Boots” and “Kung Fu Panda” will star as Vloggers on the animation studio’s latest YouTube channel.

The channel was formed by DreamWorks TV in alliance with the digital studio Awesomeness TV.  Awesomeness TV was acquired by DreamWorks Animation in 2013 for approximately $150 million. Awesomeness TV CEO Brian Robbins would be managing the project.

The highlights of DreamWorks TV YouTube channel include:

  • A mix of original animated series
  • Sociable reality TV programs
  • Appearances from DWA-owned IP

“We’re tapping into the invaluable knowledge that Brian has amassed from his success with Awesomeness TV to create a unique, short-form, laugh-out-loud mobile experience for families, “This is a huge opportunity for the DreamWorks brand,” said Katzenberg in The Hollywood Reporter article.

“Richie Rich” is among the popular IP being re-imagined for DreamWorks TV. The comic book character “Richie Rich,” after becoming vastly popular, is brought into being a 1980s animated TV series and afterwards a movie starring Macaulay Culkin. The production of a new “Richie Rich” series is in progress and is set to unveil shortly this summer of 2014.

“Gorillaville” and the live-action “Record Setter Kids” were also launched on June 16, 2014 by DreamWorks TV. The series coming up this week include “Watch This” and “Retro Tunes.”

DreamWorksTV YouTube channel will release up to three new videos on a daily basis and will introduce new programs on a rolling basis. Here is a list of designed series:

  • “OMG”
  • “Record Setter Kids”
  • “Prank My Parents”
  • “Jimmy Blue Shorts”
  • “Gorillaville”
  • “Report Card”
  • “Public Pool”
  • “Fifi Cat Therapist”
