Zach Dasher who is the first cousin of the Robertson family best known for “Duck Dynasty,” is considering to join the Louisiana’s 5th Congressional seat election, according to The News Star report. 36 -year old Dasher works as a Calhoun pharmaceutical representative.
Willie Robertson, chief executive of Duck Commander, said the Robertson family is trying to persuade Dasher to enter the election. “He’s one of the smartest young guys I know, and if we convince him to run, he’ll have the full support of the family,” Willie Robertson said about Dasher.
Dasher is a Republican. He is married with four children. He has never held elected office before.
“I’ve always had a passion for history in America, and my wife and I are considering it,” “If we think we can make a difference we’ll answer that call,” said Dasher according to The News Star reports.
Dasher stated he “represents a Christian world view,” “My philosophy, like the founders, is one of natural law,” “We believe fully that man is made in the image of God and our rights are endowed by the creator. “We know our rights don’t come from man but from the almighty. Politicians should be there to defend those rights, not determine them. I want to see a return to that idea,” Continued Dasher.
The Robertsons‘ have endorsed of former U.S. Rep. Vance McAllister. McAllister’s guest at the 2014 State of the Union Address was Willie Robertson. The sitting, U.S. Rep. Vance McAllister, stated that he will not be running for re-election after the he was caught red-handedly with a woman who wasn’t his wife on video.
McAllister, was unknown in the political world but the extensive campaigning for him by “Duck Dynasty” stars resulted in his triumph. The point to be noted is; McAllister’s guest at the 2014 State of the Union Address was Willie Robertson.
Hence, the Dasher is likely to win the election if he partakes because he is going to have the full support of the Robertson family of “Duck Dynasty” fame.
