Currently celebrating the success of his latest movie “San Andreas” that released recently, Dwayne Johnson is slowly establishing himself as Hollywood’s leading action star. Reports are coming in that the actor is signed on to be a part of one of the most popular action films of all time. He will also be producing the film.
According to Yahoo! Movies, the actor-wrestler is in talks to adapt the John Carpenter classic “Big Trouble in Little China”. The movie will be written by “X-Men: First Class” writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. The story is about a lorry driver who gets embroiled in a century old fight in San Francisco’s Chinatown and how he deals with it forms the rest of the story.
Dwayne will be playing the role of Jack Burton, the trucker who gets himself in the mess. As far as how the movie came in the limelight, it is being said that the actor along with his production partners Dany and Hiram Garcia in his production company 7 Bucks Entertainment pitched the idea for the remake of the cult movie at Fox who basically own the rights to the movie. They loved it and Mr. Miller and Stentz were immediately locked in to write the script.
This movie happens to be one of the most favorite movies of the actor and there would be no harm in saying that the actor will do justice to this role as well. Ever since the actor’s recently released “San Andreas” took a roaring $54 Million domestic opening weekend, bets on the actor becoming the next action star have also risen. The original “Big Trouble in Little China” had Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall in leading roles, which is watched by people even today.
This isn’t the only movie that the actor is committed to doing. He also has a TV series “Ballers” in hand which is about Professional Football players both retired and current working hard towards achieving their goal. Apart from that, audiences will also see him in “Shazam” where he will be playing the role of Black Adam.
