If you were a fan of the 80s American sitcom, “Married With Children,” and you were disheartened following its season finale in 1997, then you’re in for good news. It seems like Fox is about to revive yet another one of its earlier series following the footsteps of “The X-Files,” “Prison Break” and “Minority Report,” as David Faustino revealed that a spin-off to the popular sitcom is in the works. Will Ed O’Neill and Katey Sagal return? Read on to learn more about this scoop.
“Married… With Children” is a popular American sitcom, which ran for 11 seasons from 1987-1997. While most people would have thought that the 11th Season of the show has marked the end of the story of the Bundys, little did they know that the series would still see another light of the day.
David Faustino, who played the role of Bud Bundy in the series, revealed during an interview that a “Married With Children” spinoff is currently in the works.
“Sony has it. They’re excited about it. They’re working out some legal issues that we hope they work out,” Faustino said, according to CNN.
This news has made many fans squealing for joy while others were left wondering if the show could still live up to their expectations. While we are all aware that a spinoff could mean possible changes to the cast, with some even considering titles like “Married… With Grandchildren,” some fans began wondering if Ed O’Neill and Katey Sagal, who played Al and Peggy, respectively, will be reprising their roles in the upcoming series.
Carter Matt noted that O’Neill and Sagal are currently busy with their own projects and may have a hard time squeezing in some more for the “Married with Children” spinoff.
